Themes
All’s Not Lost is a deeply personal record years in the making, with many tracks written over more than a decade across different countries and life stages. At its core lies a unifying theme: human longing—the desire to connect with others. This thread is interwoven with reflections on loss, hope, and the broader search for meaning within the human experience.

Music styles
The record draws from a diverse palette of styles, blending elements of bossa nova, jazz, rock, funk, and folk music.

Tracking
Recording began in 2014 in Melbourne, with drum sessions at Shredd Studios and later at The Production Workshop under David Briggs. Much of the instrumentation was tracked at Ces’ own Jarvis Studios, while lead vocals were recorded internationally in San José and Bogotá. The record was mixed and mastered by David Briggs between March and July 2016.

Musicians
Ces performed as lead vocalist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, recording guitars, bass, alto sax, percussion, and keys. His brother Dennis J. Alberto contributed as vocal director and co-producer. The project features the following musicians:
